College, Graduate School, & Jobs Fair
One of the flagship events of the Student Summit at IFoRE is the College, Graduate School, and Jobs Fair. With an exhibit hall open to attendees throughout the conference, the fair provides a great opportunity for students to meet potential employers and representatives of higher education institutions. Students can take part in a unique environment to network with professionals in their field and get a broad spectrum of questions answered in one central location. The fair offers schools and employers the chance to showcase their programs to some of the most well-targeted and highly-achieving students in their fields.
Tips for Students
Here are some tips to get the most out of your College, Graduate School, & Jobs Fair experience:
Review the list of schools that will be in attendance
Research the colleges that are of interest to you. Then, put together a tiered list of schools ranked from first to last, based of your level of interest. In addition, plan to visit schools you are unfamiliar with, but have your interests.
Have a list of questions ready
Here are a few sample questions to ask college representatives:
What program is your college known for?
Does the college offer any special programs like independent study, study abroad, etc?
Are there any specific requirements for certain programs at the university?
What is the community like around the university?
What is the faculty-student ratio?
What internship opportunities are available?
What opportunities are available for international, underrepresented, or other students with special circumstances?
Does your school/program offer any flexibility in admission requirements in response to COVID-19, such as with results on standardized tests
